Mara Dyer doesn’t think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.

It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.

There is.

She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love.

She’s wrong.

5/5 Stars.

The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer is one of those books that can keep you up all night because you won’t be able to fall asleep if you don’t finish it. It’s amazing! Captivating and unique, it will make you love it. To be honest, it’s one of those books that you don’t really know what the heck is going on and you’re loving it.

Naturally, the first thing I loved about this book is Noah. Noah Shaw. What can I possibly say about this boy? That he’s one of the sweetest, sexiest and most protective characters ever? He’s these and much more. And then, there are the Noah-is-sexually-teasing-Mara. Let’s just say, that the romance is really hot. Sexual tension, touching but not quite touching, epic, hot quotes. You get the gist. Plus, Noah’s got an English accent. An English accent, people.

The storyline is very unique and confusing, in a good way. There’s a lot of mystery which is basically moving the story. Some people don’t like not knowing what is really happening in a book but Michelle Hodkin has a way of unraveling the story that just has you hooked. I absolutely love her writing. It’s beautiful.

Mara is a complicated character which I liked from the beginning of the book. She’s strong. She wakes up in a hospital without any recollection of how she got there and she’s told that her best friend died along with her boyfriend and his sister. Plus, she was in the building where they died but she miraculously survived. You have to be strong to get through this.  Also, she’s very protective of those she loves. She’s a great heroine who I understood and loved from the beginning of the book.

To sum up, I’d recommend The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer to anyone but especially anyone who wants a well written, unique YA novel with a lot of mystery, hot romance and amazing characters. This book is definitely a must-read!

PS. Review for The Evolution Of Mara Dyer is coming soon. 🙂
