Books I’ve Read (since the last time I read a book)

Uh…I’m using my phone data to use the internet. Sorry phone.
So you think from my title that this is going to be a kick ass, interesting AF story about what I’ve been reading, right?
Well, you’d be…RIGHT, of course. Hahahahahahaaahhaha
Really, I’ve been reading, but it’s all rereads. If you follow my Instagram, you’ll have seen my cry for help. My reading slump has me hurting, but it’s letting me reread so that’s something at least.
The last time I read a new book was August 27th. Since then I’ve (re)read:
The entire Shatter Me series – Shatter Me, Unravel Me and Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. I was going to upload a video of me talking about my love for this series but it turned out to be a shit video so I just didn’t. Ehem.
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin (I read this during Dewey’s 24hr #readathon)
Those last two are obviously in the same series but I haven’t reread Retribution yet because Noah’s book doesn’t come out for a few weeks and I don’t want to finish the reread yet. But YAY I’M SO EXCITED! NOAH GETS HIS OWN SERIES!!

I’ve begun reading Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan. Not read these since 2015, so I feel it deserves some love again.
I’ve ALSO – and yeah, this is gonna sound pathetic, but it’s something, right? – read some pages of NEW books. I know! *gasps* Here’s a tally.
Turtles All The Way Down by John Green: 26 pages

There’s a turtle eating a strawberry. CUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!

Right…where was I?

WinterSong by S. Jae. Jones: 55 pages
Uprooted by Naomi Novik: 9 pages
Red Rising by Pierce Brown: 13 pages
I also tried reading The Christmas Stocking and other stories by Katie Fforde, but unfortunately I’m not really in the Christmas spirit yet and also I just wasn’t feeling the stories in general..:/ Maybe another time. So something like 10 pages?
The Treatment by C. L. Taylor: 11 pages
I think at some point I even read a few more pages of The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead, but I can’t remember.
So as you can see, I’m doing REAL well with new books >_> so that’s why I just go back to books I already know and love because at least then I’m doing something, eh?
It’s silly because I bought a load of new books a couple weeks ago and I was in the slump then, yet the force to buy was strong. lol
I hope, someday, maybe, I’ll be able to finish something and write a review. Sigh. I’ve actually forgotten how to compose a review because compared to everyone else these days, mine sound dumb. I used to be able to make mine sound sophisticated but now it’s all “this was good. I liked it.” *cries*
Anyway, what have you been reading lately?
xx Kat xx

Re-reads/re-watches means you can just relax and not have to focus on it too much because you already know so I see the enjoyment of doing that. I mainly do that with films because I’m not a big re-reader.

You’ve started SO MANY because how do you not forget what’s going on. If I put a book down I tend to lose enthusiasm reading it. Does this happen to you?

I’ve read a couple books recently. The luckless by A. M. Sohma, along with the sequel A desperate quest. Both of which I enjoyed. I’ve also read The goblin’s shadow by Kyle Vauss. A little lackluster, but I’m interested enough to read the next one.

I’m currently reading Digital shadows by Ethan Crow and struggling with it. :/ Also, I think I might do a re-read of HP series at some point.

Yeah I do tend to lose enthusiasm but I the books I started are good, it’s just my brain refuses to get into them. Lol. Sigh. I love rereading sometimes more than new stuff. Haha.
