Deweys 24hr #Readathon | The Verdict

Okay, guys. Okay. It happened! I did the 24hr readathon and…promptly got defeated. I fell asleep at 10.30pm. Yeah. I managed to read a total of..250 pages. It was a 500 page book, so…yeah. But I’d started at page 49, so that gave me a head start.  I honestly feel so ashamed. I can’t believe the people that have read five or six books in 24hrs, though. That’s insane! I wish I had that ability to speed read.  Anyway, I just thought I’d tell you […]

The Readers Confession Tag

Hey guys. So I was tagged by Alisha over at Reality’s A Bore to do this and I will give it my best shot. I can’t promise it’ll be as interesting as hers, but hey… 1. Have you ever damaged a book? Not intentionally, no. I like to treat my books with the care I don’t always treat myself. It’s like…no…I love my books. Maybe the odd one or two gets roughed up, but that’s probably from back before I gave a crap. Haha. 2. Have […]

I’m doing the…Dewey’s 24hr Readathon April 2016

I’m doing the…Dewey’s 24hr Readathon April 2016

Are you? I’ve not done a readathon in ages (and I can’t exactly say the TBRtakedown was a success), but now, in the middle of all the writing I’m SUPPOSED to be doing before I go away, I’ve decided I’m going to take one day out to READ. Not that I haven’t been reading all this time, because I have been. Even if it’s just a couple hours here and there, I manage it. But I’ve been so disconnected with books lately, what with me […]

What what? – Updates!

Hey guys. Has it really been so long since my last post???? I missed doing the blogging extravaganza posts last week because…yeah, I was ill. Still, kinda, am. I mean, I’m on the outs as far as feeling like shit goes. This cold hit me like a full on hurricane of snot. (ew!) Anyway, I have somethings to catch you up on. *First off, I did manage some reading while ill. Not traditional stuff, though, I mean, I couldn’t wear my glasses for half the […]

Get Up Offa That Slump: A Blogging Extravaganza – Bookish Things You’d Give a Kidney For

Get Up Offa That Slump: A Blogging Extravaganza – Bookish Things You’d Give a Kidney For

Hey there, it’s Day 2 of this wonderful challenge set by Rachel at Beauty and the Bookshelf. This time it’s about all the bookish things I’d give a kidney for, as it was World Kidney Day on the 10th. So here goes. What would I give a kidney for? Hmm… Let’s see. *A bigger bedroom– I know, it sounds silly and petty but I’ve had a bedroom the size of a box (not literally, it just feels like it) for 22 years (while living in […]

Get Up Offa That Slump – An Interview With Myself

Well hello there. I love challenges, especially when it comes to blogging because it really helps me stretch my boundaries. So here’s the first task – to interview myself. Okay, so that might sound weird but hey, trust me. It’ll be fun. I hope. 🙂   What’s your name? Hey! How’re ya doing? My name is Kat. Kat…? Well, Katheryn. But whatever, right? How old are you? *looks away* I don’t want to say. Okay…I’m 29. When’s your birthday? Soon. April 13th. Okay, enough personal […]

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Characters Everyone Loves But I Just Don’t Get

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by the delightful girls at The Broke and the Bookish. This weeks Top Ten is all about Ten Characters Everyone Loves But I Just Don’t Get or Ten Characters I LOVE But Others Seem To Dislike. Honestly, there are so many, but anyway. (P.S. This is my first time taking part in Top Ten Tuesday, so I’m rather excited.) First off, really, I’ll start with: Jem Carstairs from The Infernal Devices: I’m sorry, I really am, but I […]

4 stars to The Young Elites by Marie Lu

I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside. Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and […]
