Advice and Wasted Paper | a writing blog

Posted 23 September, 2017 by katheryn13 in blog, Kat's Writing, Updates / 1 Comment

Hey all. Another writing post. Agh! So since my last post I printed out my first draft. YAY! And since THEN I’ve also been trying out writing the story in third person. Well, today. I mean, I had tried before and I’d struggled with what POV to go with, and then I was over thinking it all, so I took a few weeks off. Now, though, I’m really thinking it might work better in 3rd person because it gives me a bit more freedom. I […]

Losing The Plot (quite literally)

Hey!  It’s been a while since I did a post like this, huh? I’m sorry. I mean it. I’m more sorry for myself, to be honest, but oh well. I just wanted to write about what I’ve been struggling with lately. And that is: It’s one of those things where, if you’d asked me months ago whether I plotted anything, I’d have said ARE YOU MAD? But these days I’m coming to the conclusion that I really need to do this. I need to plot […]

I did it…I think | Camp Nanowrimo update

Posted 31 July, 2017 by katheryn13 in blog, Kat's Writing, Updates, YA / 0 Comments

You might have heard a little thing called Camp Nanowrimo and that I was taking part this past month and in April.  Well, today is the 31st July and I kinda…did it. Technically I continued a story I’d started in April, and I struggled. Man, did I struggle.  In any case, I’ve called it the end. At just over 53k. I have plot holes the size of the TARDIS and I have gaps that I need to connect, but yeah. Not to mention the ending […]

#ReReadathon wrap up

Hi again! So the re-readathon has come to an end. I know, I’m sad, too. Since my last update, I finished The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, and LOVED IT! Took me longer than I expected, but yeah, what’s new? I got half way through This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith and I’m loving it, again, but I think I’m also coming to the end of my contemporary wave, and I’m excited to read something new, something fantasy. Maybe. […]

#ReReadathon Updates

Hi everyone.  So this week I’ve been doing the #rereadathon organised by @bexthebookninja on twitter. It finishes next Sunday but I thought I’d do a quick update and tell you how it’s going so far, considering I’m smack in the middle of Camp Nanowrimo. Sigh. Luckily I was already in the process of rereading books when this readathon started (I had kinda forgotten the start date anyway) and so I’m counting the one I read a few days before hand as well. They’re all contemporaries, too. So […]
