Deweys 24hr #Readathon | The Verdict

Posted 24 April, 2016 by katheryn13 in Readathons, Updates / 2 Comments

Okay, guys. Okay. It happened!
I did the 24hr readathon and…promptly got defeated. I fell asleep at 10.30pm. Yeah.
I managed to read a total of..250 pages. It was a 500 page book, so…yeah. But I’d started at page 49, so that gave me a head start.
I honestly feel so ashamed. I can’t believe the people that have read five or six books in 24hrs, though. That’s insane! I wish I had that ability to speed read.
Anyway, I just thought I’d tell you all what a massive fail I made of this challenge, as I intended on staying up, but my body just…no. I couldn’t!
Maybe I’ll do better next time. I applaud those that did amazingly well and read more than 1 book. Wow.
So what’s next? Well, besides me having to speed write and finish my Camp Nano story, I have YallWest next weekend, and then who knows? Something great, I hope.
Have a lovely Sunday evening (or morning/afternoon, wherever you are)!

I’m doing the…Dewey’s 24hr Readathon April 2016

Are you?
I’ve not done a readathon in ages (and I can’t exactly say the TBRtakedown was a success), but now, in the middle of all the writing I’m SUPPOSED to be doing before I go away, I’ve decided I’m going to take one day out to READ. Not that I haven’t been reading all this time, because I have been. Even if it’s just a couple hours here and there, I manage it. But I’ve been so disconnected with books lately, what with me writing my own one.
So here’s my choices to read (because lord knows I’m not going to manage more than one book):
Passenger
Blood of Olympus.
I’m going to try one of these, and of course if within the first hour or so I decide I’m not feeling it (though I’ve tried the second one and I love the story, but maybe it’s clashing too much with my own story), then I can change.
Let me know if you’re taking part and what you’ll be reading.
